Forester

I think of the Forester cocktail an alternative to a Whiskey Sour. While the Whiskey Sour uses sugar to sweeten the bourbon whiskey, the Forester uses cherry liqueur for that purpose. Then a squeeze of lemon adds the final touch of zesty citrus.
The final result is a slightly sweet, easygoing drink that makes bourbon palatable even to those who find it a little overwhelming normally. The Forester cocktail is a nice choice for an evening out – it’s great for a night of dancing, or just hanging out with friends.
Recipe
- 1 ounce bourbon
- 3/4 ounce cherry liqueur
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Shake all the ingredients together with ice and strain the mixture into a chilled old-fashioned glass. Optional: maraschino cherry garnish.
