The Deliciously Drinkable Chambord Royale

The Chambord Royale combines the famous raspberry liqueur with cranberry and pineapple for flavor, and an ounce of vodka for kick. It’s a fruity little drink, but not overly sweet.

This is a great drink for adding a touch of luxury to a cozy evening at home. It’s also great for a night out. It blends the rich, velvety notes of Chambord liqueur with the smooth, clean finish of vodka, complemented by the tangy zing of cranberry and the tropical sweetness of pineapple juice.

The Key Ingredients

This cocktail is a delicate balance of four key ingredients, each playing a vital role in creating the final flavor profile.

Chambord Liqueur

My detailed tasting notes on Chambord, a French cognac-based sweet black raspberry liqueur. This is one of my favorite spirits, and it’s popular worldwide because it’s so delicious.

At the heart of the drink is the Chambord liqueur. This exquisite French liqueur is crafted with a proprietary blend of black raspberries, vanilla, and a touch of citrus.

That gives it a rich, velvety texture and a flavor that is simultaneously sweet, tart, and subtly spiced. The Chambord liqueur provides the foundation for the cocktail.

Vodka

To balance the sweetness of the Chambord, the recipe calls for the addition of vodka. The clean, neutral flavor of the vodka helps to temper the intensity of the Chambord. The vodka also increases the strength of the alcohol in the drink.

Cranberry Juice

An ounce of cranberry juice is added to provide a tart and refreshing counterpoint to the sweetness of the other ingredients. The cranberry juice helps to cut through the richness of the Chambord, adding a bright, lively note that helps to keep the cocktail from becoming overly cloying or heavy.

Pineapple Juice

The final ingredient is an ounce of pineapple juice. The tropical sweetness of the pineapple complements the berry notes of the Chambord. The pineapple juice also helps to balance the acidity of the cranberry juice, resulting in a well-rounded and eminently sippable cocktail.

Serving and Enjoying

This drink is best enjoyed immediately after being prepared. The cocktail should be served chilled, with the elegant coupe or martini glass adding to the overall presentation and experience. It’s shown here with a stemless martini glass.
