The Berry Fusion Martini blends the tastes of blackcurrant and cranberry with the tropical fruit flavors of Hpnotiq liqueur. This is a sweet fruity cocktail, but it’s a little more grown-up than some.
The blackcurrant and cranberry meld into a single note that balances sweetness and tartness. The Hpnotiq adds unexpected notes, also fruity but harder to pin down.
It’s the sort of drink that’s delicious from the start, but it takes a few sips to get the whole sense of it. It’s definitely a drink for savoring.
You may be wondering about the blueberry garnish. I speared them here, but other versions call for you to just drop frozen blueberries in.
And yet, there’s no blueberry in the drink, so why are they the garnish? Let me know if you figure that out.
My best guess is that they look pretty. Let me know if you come up with a better explanation.
The Berry Fusion Martini is wonderful with a dinner salad featuring some savory ingredients like feta cheese and roasted pumpkin seeds. Nothing too tangy or salty.
It also goes well with plain grilled or blackened salmon. And for pete’s sake, don’t top it with mango or strawberry salsa, like a hipster chef who’s completely lost the plot.
The drink adds all the sweetness to the meal you could want.
