Chocolate Margarita cocktail recipe

The Chocolate Margarita uses tequila and orange juice, but there any resemblance to a traditional Margarita ends. After that, it’s all Godiva chocolate liqueur, Hershey’s syrup and cream.

The end result? A creamy, chocolatey concoction with just the right hint of orange.

It’s not recommended to serve this one blended because it loses some of the nuance that way. Just shake it in a shaker instead.

The recipe calls for a pour from the shaker, leaving the ice in the drink. I actually prefer it strained, so I shake until it’s almost too cold to hold the shaker anymore, and then pour into a chilled glass to keep it cold.

Or you could put some fresh ice into the glass and strain the mixture over that.

This is, of course, a great dessert drink. Because the dominant flavors here are chocolate and orange, it’s not the easiest drink to pair with a typical meal.

It’s great served with chocolate cookies of any sort, or alongside ice cream in flavors like plain ol’ vanilla, salted caramel, coconut sorbet. And of course it goes great with any kind of white cake. A “turtle” flavored cheesecake would be another option.

If you’re intimidated at the thought of putting a rim on a glass, we’ve got a tutorial on how to rim glasses right here. Everything you need, in text and pictures or video.
