6 Best Glass Bottles for Infusions

We use glass flask bottles to infuse liquors and to store and make homemade salad dressing. Since both of those tasks involve shaking the flasks to mix ingredients, we recommend a bottle with a top that stays sealed and sturdy glass.

What to Look For in Glass Flasks
If you’re going to be doing infusing, you may think any of them will do. There are just a few things to look for:
- Does it seal well enough that you could shake it without it leaking or coming open? Most of our infusions call for shaking, and salad dressings need it frequently. The best seal gives you the best infusion and storage time.
- What’s the right size for your project?
- How easy are they to clean?
After that, the only real consideration is style. Pick what you like the look of, as long as it’s quality.

These 8.5 ounce (250ml) are the flasks we've used for all our infusions on this site. Pictured here is our Jolly Rancher Vodka Infusion. We infused it in these bottles and also served it in them.
They have a cork top with a rubber hermetic seal that expands to keep the liquid in and the air out. Despite how tightly they close, opening them is easy with the metal swing top.
You can also use these for making and storing homemade salad dressing, fermenting kafir and kombucha, homebrewing and more. They're about the same size as the smaller traditional store bought dressings.
You can put labels on the front (we're partial to these erasable erasable chalkboard labels labels). This is great for knowing exactly what's in each bottle, and you can also date them so you'll know when they've reached the end of their shelf life.
Dishwasher safe but also easy to clean by hand. They also have no problem being put into the freezer to chill an infusion.

These beautiful 16 ounce bottles are reminiscent of old fashioned soda bottles. This set of six is great for fermentation, and come with three extra stoppers and a collapsible silicon funnel.
The stainless steel closures won't rust in the dishwasher and the tops close so well that you might occasionally find them a little hard to open.
But that's a good thing, especially when you're fermenting. And one of the most popular uses for these bottles is brewing kombucha.
These are also great for storing home brewed beer.

These bottles are simple with a black screw on cap. Reviewers report shaking their infusions vigorously in these bottles without any sign of a leak. They're a slightly smaller size than the rest of the flasks on this page.
They also have a flat front - like the Bormioli Roccos - that's great for applying a printed label. Perfect for gifting homemade liquor invusions to friends and loved ones.
